This project proposes not only to discuss the problems faced by several teaching institutions - especially those of Distance Learning – due to the growing demand for students in recente years, but also to debate how the Cognitive Computing technological solutions developed by large companies can help minimize these problems. The presented cases are technological advances in the area of Cognitive Computing developed by the three main global solution providers: Google, Microsoft and IBM. The main focus of the study was to present a case study involving a Brazilian Faculty of Distance Learning, in which the Google’s cognitive solution Cloud Vision helps automate most of the issues related to documentation analysis during the enrollment process. The results observed after using the solution are presented, including the advantages of using it, the return on investment and the issues found during the development of the solution. |
