Resumo: This study aimed to investigate the use of NLP tools and practices in establishing a relationship of trust in coaching and mentoring processes, as well as to identify the main theories of coaching, mentoring and NLP in general determining the needs to build trust during the sessions of the two processes. For this purpose the bibliographic research was used as a method for data collection by the study raised in the theoretical reference on the importance of trust in communication and the role that NLP can play with its techniques to establish this trust. From the data analysis, it was possible to perceive that trust should be the basis of the coach / mentor relationship with the coachee / mentored and that with it the sessions can occur in the best possible way. Ultimately, through NLP and its focus on communication between people and how language affects them it was possible to see how trust can be built só that the process flows easily and with the expected results.
