Resumo: The use of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) by industries involves the inherent risk of explosions or to the health of the employees. Thus, it is essential to frequently perform measurements of the amount of gas present in the air at strategic points. In order to carry out such measurements, it is typically necessary to have a professional with suitable equipment for such activity, which involves costs and exposes the employee to various risks. This work aims to develop a prototype of an LPG sensor capable of performing such measurements, which can potentially reduce costs for companies and increase the safety of their employees. The prototype created communicates through a central server using the IEEE 802.11 protocol, which is popularly known as Wi-Fi. The central server stores the information obtained from the sensor and provides a friendly view for daily monitoring, allowing a possible action when the gas level exceeds an acceptable limit. In this work, the viability of the proposed solution is tested, possible problems are identified, and a solid foundation is offered for the creation of an end product.
