This paper is the result of a research on the elements of Brazilian folklore that Cecília Meireles used in her Christmas play O Menino Atrasado, written in 1946. The main focus is in the anthropological analysis of the play components and the relation they establish with typical Brazilian celebrations and dramatizations during the Christmas cycle. This work also covers the pedagogical importance that motivates the recording and dissemination of these cultural manifestations in a format as popular as the Christmas play. |
