Resumo: We live in the information and communication age, and the school can not ignore this phenomenon that transforms the process of interaction between people and society in a general way. In the school context information and communication technologies should not be seen merely as a new model. From a didactic transmission of old content, a reflection on the true space that ICTs occupy within a public school is necessary. Much has been discussed about using tools and applications within the classroom, or their actual use by the teacher throughout the teaching-learning process, but a question that becomes latent is about the teacher's actual interpretation of the new technologies and how the student is facing such use today. An indisputable fact is that many educators use the media merely as a replica of what happens in the classroom. While students merely use such resources as leisure and entertainment, for this reason we continue to reflect to understand the ICT space in the peripheral school context of a metropolis, indicating in this research, through data collection with teachers that use ICT and how your students react with such resources.
