With the development of DWDM transmission rates increased with great intensity, however characteristics as management and control of the network did not show this trend DWDM networks because it contains features that allow this control. In this context was developed the ASON (Automatically Switchable Optical Network) technology that brings concepts of routing traffic and resilience in the physical layer implementing central management of DWDM network. Its basic architecture consists of three plans: Transport Plane, Control Plane and Management Plane. In the Transport Plane, a technology that was developed in parallel but with the same purpose is used. It OTN - Optical Transport Network, this technology adapts concepts of networks SONET / SDH to DWDM world providing transparency, greater tracking ability and improves detection and correction of errors that existed in previous technologies. |
