This research aims to assess whether the students in “Ensino Fundamental II” classes (equivalent: Middle School) of a school system in Londrina are proficient readers. In order to achieve this, descriptive literature and field methodology were used. The participants were 17 students of a given Young Adults and Adult Education system in Londrina, which answered to questionnaires consisting of four multiple-choice questions about everyday reading habits. The results showed that the participants are literate and have daily reading habits, that is to say, not only do they recognize the words, but are able to comprehend them; they are literate and have daily reading habits. |
