With the objective of identifying the degrees of harassment in sanitary metal companies, the present research was carried out by crossing information obtained in the literature with the information obtained from questionnaires applied to workers from seven companies in the northwest of Paraná. Each questionnaire contained 23 questions divided into four major groups, the first one contained questions used to characterize the employees, the second group aimed to evaluate the degree of knowledge of each respondent about Moral Harassment and its characteristics; The third group determined which situations of harassment that individual had suffered and their frequency, and the last group was aimed at determining the impact of harassment on the worker’s life. It is noteworthy that almost half of the sample is aware of the issue (58.7%), believe that
they have already witnessed harassment (54.3%) and denounce these situations (52.1%). A positive response was obtained from 23 respondents regarding the perception of harassment suffered by themselves, which represents 25% of the sample. This value is considerably high, especially if taken into account that the percentage of those who reported maybe, that number increases to 44.6%. Another worrying finding was about the dissemination of the topic, 78% of the respondents said they had never heard about it in the company they work for. Those who are aware of the subject have obtained this information from other sources, and there may be misconceptions as to what the person thinks Harassment is and what can actually be classified as such. In view of the data and information gathered, it is possible to conclude that the subject Harassment requires more in-depth studies and that research is carried out involving other segments and business sectors, and make it possible to directly relate the matter to the occurrences of incidents, accidents and occupational diseases, psychological or not. That the issues, traumas and taboos related to Harassment are daily issues and concerns of all within the business organization whether private or public and that Laws take into account to contemplate the matter directly and present effective and effective punishments against violators. It is also recommended that a prevention policy should be established where, in training for the Internal Commission for the Prevention of Accidents (CIPA), Harassment is a mandatory subject as well as the notions about Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), as recommended by Regulatory Standard 5 (NR-5). Also in the Internal Week of Prevention of Accidents of Work (SIPAT), is a topic to be debated in order to make workers aware of the harassment situations. |
