The objective of this study is to investigate the applicability of Norm of Technical Procedure 02 - Adaptation to fire safety standards - existing and old buildings, in a fire prevention project for property regularization in the Fire Department of the State of Paraná. The theoretical framework contextualizes the current technical legislation in Brazil and the state of Paraná. The methodology applied to the research was the case study, with appreciation in a commercial building constructed in the 80's. The development of the Fire Prevention Plan and the adequacy of the property according to the NPT 02, is simple to apply, cooperates to regularize existing properties, cooperates to maintain existing fire prevention systems, avoid costly interventions. Nos últimos anos a legislação técnica aplicada à prevenção de incêndio no Brasil tem sido aprimorada com foco na prevenção. Edificações existentes e antigas enfrentam dificuldades para se adequar a esta nova realidade. O objetivo deste estudo é averiguar a aplicabilidade da Norma de Procedimento Técnico 02 - Adaptação às normas de segurança contra incêndio - edificações existentes e antigas, em projeto de prevenção de incêndio para regularização de imóvel junto ao Corpo de Bombeiros do Estado do Paraná. O referencial teórico contextualiza a legislação técnica vigente no Brasil e no Estado do Paraná. A metodologia aplicada à pesquisa foi o estudo de caso, com apreciação em uma edificação comercial construída nos anos 80.
