Resumo: Medical reports are drawn up from the request of a judge before trial proceedings. The request when it is not within the magistrate's know-how, thus requiring a specialist to help you is necessary. For the preparation of an expert’s report, it is essential that the expert has no connection with the parties and is impartial, which must have technical competence to carry out the investigation. The structure of a report can be considered as one of the critical points to an expert, especially when dealing with a professional who is a beginner in the area. It is interesting to highlight the need for references that help these professionals to develop their work, suggesting the necessary topics and what these topics should include, of course, the content will vary from process to process, instructed the expert to structure their service as the need. With the analysis of some reports, it was possible to identify the main topics for a medical expert report focused on the loss of working capacity, and thus, this study aimed to present the topics raised and what should be, characterizing briefly the loss of working capacity and the causal link between the disease and the current performance of the process claimant.
