Resumo: This paper is a brief investigation about the teenagers in Youth and Adult Education with a focus in the City of St. Helena - PR, mainly aspects that are desirable for a new direction of the country's education system, mainly because it is a mode to become a need to ensure these students "marginalized" from major opportunity for the construction of citizenship. Because it is a mode of education by law, is also a matter of fairness and inclusion, which has long been violated by illiteracy. The Youth and Adult Education - adult education - actually represents a new possibility for the right to education, mainly because it is not a process seen through the eyes of "favors," it is a right guaranteed by the Constitution of the country de1988. To accomplish this research conducted a study of the history of adult education, since the story of the same mix with the history of basic education, which is a legacy marked by public policies. Along with survey data on the presence in the education of adolescents and young adults in Santa Helena. It was noticed that these students are part of adult education in the labor market, or expect him to join and not only to seek certification of education to maintain their professional status, but plan to finish high school for upward social mobility and profisssionalmente, breaking barriers prejudiced usually implemented as a function of a great desire to learn.
