The Mathematics has always been one of the most dreaded subjects by students. One reason may be the fact that some subjects them seems very abstract, not tangible, and therefore difficult to understand. It’s mathematics teachers’ knowledge that are there many students who like the discipline of Physics, and they understand most of the contents, even when they not get along well with the Mathematics. This is because in the Physics problems they seem tangible, applying the Mathematics directly in everyday situations. Therefore, there is the importance of reducing the abstraction of the Mathematics in the eyes of students. Thus, this research proposes ways to work the high school content facilitating the visualization of problems, specifically maximum and minimum of polynomial functions, which are some of the most common applications. Importantly, mastery of the subject by the teacher is fundamental to transmit the teachings in a clear and objective manner. That is, even if the teacher can’t work in high school, Calculus content, as derivative for example, it is important that such content you are clear; only then can approach the teaching of Mathematics masterfully. |
