Resumo: This work consists of an investigation about the school lunch and its participation in the stay of the student in the school and in the learning of quality. Once, through some studies, the teachers were identified as exclusive responsible for the student’s stay in school and for their learning in the classroom. In this way, the efforts were directed towards the improvement of the teacher, through specialization courses, workshops, in search of new didactics, methodologies to be applied to the teaching profession, obtaining significant results in teaching learning. Today, there are teachers who are more capable and prepared for good quality education, but it is obvious that the problem of school dropout is still a worrying reality. In this area, new research was carried out in order to investigate more factors responsible for school dropout and, consequently, responsible for insufficient learning. By the regency in the classroom, it was possible to perceive the indisposition of the students to the classes, although with diverse methodologies. Starting from informal conversations, students mentioned as a cause of school drop-out, insufficient feeding and offered only once, in pre-set hours. It is imperative that the poor population of the society is clientele of public schools and, undoubtedly, high index, as well as workers with high workload and little time for studies. In the longing to finish their studies, these students attend the schools without food and, most of the time, for not having a meal in their homes. For the reasons given above, indicators of retention and evasion of public schools throughout the country are growing. In view of the arguments presented, this work sought to raise the perception of students involved with the problem and also with professionals related to the school environment in the Northwest region of the State of Paraná, and identify possible ways to reduce the negative effects of this situation.
