Resumo: This work had as its theme the analysis of didactic material used by students enrolled in regular high school, in the Mathematics discipline, about topics treated the exercises, in comparison with those used in the National High School Examination ENEM aiming to approach the methodology factor of teaching in the subject of mathematics in the scope of regular high school, as well as their contribution in the preparation of the students for the ENEM exam, trying to identify what relevance they have for such process. In these terms, it has been found that for the teaching of mathematics to be disseminated more effectively, the practice of exercises appropriate to everyday life is quite important since school is a fundamental work space to illuminate the meaning of education and strengthen the bases of training for citizenship. In this way, it is possible to contribute to the students getting a good placement in the ENEM and to adapt to the process of building an organized society. Therefore, in this article, it approaches the concepts about the National High School Examination (ENEM), importance of a methodology based on students’ everyday and mathematical concepts. A study was conducted based on field research, in which high school students were interviewed. Based on a bibliographic research, it was possible to identify and compare opinions about the importance of the use of questions based on the ENEM exam in the educational process, as well as methods adopted to achieve the intellectual development of the student in the phase comprised in regular high school. With this, the task of the School, as a facilitator of this path that the learner has to go through, is not to exclude the incentive of his school life.
