Resumo: In this work the look will focus on the integration of the discipline of sociology in high school its importance and what the vision of the students of the third year of high school regarding sociology and other disciplines. The methodology of the study, from a questionnaire given to students in public and private, is to understand the vision of learning for the students, teacher or affinity with matter, methodology applied in the classroom, what is the importance of the teacher, which disciplines stood out and what content they believe students have learned about the sociology of fact. Sociology is especially focused on reflection, the distortion of facts and in contrast, often the school is to introduce and condition students to keep the same thought. This perspective also approach combines the challenge of making the teachers of Sociology stop to reflect their role in the school environment. This research sought to align theory and practice and its applicability in the school context. In three parts: the first insertion of the historical context of the discipline of sociology in Brazil, the second the importance of sociology for students of high school and the third and final applied research students of the third year of high school on public and private different periods to analyze their similarities and differences.
