Whereas students EJA comprise a heterogeneous in terms of age audience, experiences, cultures, different levels of mathematical and scientific knowledge. In this perspective affection arises in the teacher and student as an important tool in motivation, interest in the acquisition of scientific knowledge and learning significantly. To emphasize the affective influences on the teaching and learning of mathematics in EJA process, conducted a qualitative field research with questionnaires for students and professors of mathematics at EJA embodiment, the State Center for Basic Education and Youth Adults from Paranavai (CEEBJA), complemented by a literature review and comparisons with other related articles affectivity. Through the survey it was possible to observe the influence of affective aspects of learning as a key factor in student interest in studying. Highlighting the importance of teachers reflecting on their methodological practice and seek affection as a tool in promoting a favorable environment for learning. Este trabalho teve como temática evidenciar a contribuição da afetividade no ensino da matemática na modalidade de Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA), ressaltando que é nesta modalidade que o vínculo afetivo se torna elemento fundamental no processo de ensino e aprendizagem e permanência do aluno na escola. Considerando que os alunos da EJA são compostos por um público heterogêneo em termos de faixa etária, vivências, culturas, níveis diferentes de conhecimentos matemáticos e científicos. Nesta perspectiva surge a afetividade na relação professor e aluno como ferramenta importante na motivação, no interesse pela aquisição do conhecimento científico e da aprendizagem de maneira significativa. Para salientar que a afetividade influencia no processo de ensino e aprendizagem da matemática na EJA, realizou-se pesquisa qualitativa de campo, com aplicação de questionários para alunos e professores da disciplina de matemática na modalidade EJA, do Centro Estadual de Educação Básica de Jovens e Adultos de Paranavaí (CEEBJA), complementando com revisão bibliográfica e comparações com outros artigos relacionados à afetividade. Através da pesquisa realizada foi possível observar a influência dos aspectos afetivos na aprendizagem como fator fundamental no interesse do aluno prosseguir os estudos.
