The maps as a didactic resource are extremely important both to the teacher and the student to analyze and understand the geographical space. It’s important that students know how to interpret the different types of maps, and why people use them to orientate or localize themselves. Also Emphasizes the necessity to learn how to interpret the maps at all different levels of school education, only in this way should be able to understand and not simply copy what is already done. As well as teaching the student how to read, the teacher must be capable to verify possible difficulties presented by the students during the process, because it is common the teaching materials not contain the geographical maps with the content, most of the times its just mentioned in different pages or at the end of the chapter, which complicate the maps comprehension. Make clear the real necessity to have printed or digital maps in class, mainly in the geography class, because the students need to keep in touch with this tool to assimilate the contents in order to solve the doubts that may rise during the explanation, with the possibility to continue the class with the minimum doubts about maps interpretation. O presente trabalho tem como temática o estudo sobre a necessidade de se fazer o uso de mapas nas aulas de Geografia, pois se trata de uma importante ferramenta de trabalho. Os mapas como recurso didático, são de extrema valia tanto para o professor quanto para o aluno na busca de analisar e compreender o espaço geográfico. É importante que o aluno saiba interpretar os diferentes tipos de mapas, porque as pessoas os usam durante toda a vida seja para se orientar ou localizar-se espacialmente. Salienta-se também a necessidade de aprender a interpretar os mapas em todas as fases do período escolar, só assim conseguirá decodificá-los e não somente copiar o que já está pronto. O professor, além de ensinar o aluno a ler e interpretar mapas tem a responsabilidade de verificar possíveis dificuldades apresentadas pelos alunos durante essa trajetória, pois nem sempre os livros didáticos utilizados trazem os mapas a serem interpretados junto ao conteúdo, muitas vezes é apenas mencionado em páginas separadas ou no final do capítulo, o que dificulta a compreensão do objeto estudado. Ressalta-se a real necessidade da presença de mapas impressos ou digitais quando disponíveis em salas de aula, principalmente nas aulas de geografia, pois os alunos precisam ter contato com essa ferramenta para assimilarem o conteúdo, a fim de sanar dúvidas que eventualmente possam surgir no decorrer do conteúdo, e assim possam ser compreendidas ao mesmo tempo em que o professor pode dar continuidade no conteúdo deixando o mínimo de pendências possíveis em relação à interpretação de mapas. 2020-11-24T14:28:42Z 2020-11-24T14:28:42Z 2014-03-29 specializationThesis CONTERNO, Lucy.
