It aims to identify what types of accessibility exist and how should be addressed to students with special needs, focusing on the difficulties of physical disability. The research was carried out at a municipal school in the city of Umuarama, state of Paraná, whose data were obtained through the use of a questionnaire, answered by the school's management. Searching through the data collected, answer the research problem: how to overcome the physical barriers encountered by people with special needs to attend schools? In this sense, we sought to know, through this research, the barriers encountered by people with physical disabilities, to attend a regular school, from the transportation offered by the municipality, to the internal and external conditions of the school, as well as the signaling of the access to school. It is concluded with the research that, although there are laws that regulate and regulate inclusion and accessibility, allowing the real inclusion, not all environments offer adequate physical and structural conditions to accommodate in an inclusive way. Another important factor noted was the lack of training for the school staff, adequately serving the physically disabled. Este trabalho teve como temática a acessibilidade escolar, abordando o histórico da educação inclusiva no Brasil, as leis que regem o ensino e como deve ser a escola, em termos estruturais e arquitetônicos, os ambientes internos e externos, para que o ensino possa ser voltado à inclusão. Visa apontar quais tipos de acessibilidade existem e como devem ser atendidos os alunos com necessidades especiais, focando nas dificuldades da deficiência física. A pesquisa foi realizada numa escola municipal, da cidade de Umuarama, estado do Paraná, cujos dados foram obtidos mediante uso de questionário, respondido pela direção da escola. Buscando por meio dos dados levantados, responder ao problema da pesquisa: como superar as barreiras físicas encontradas pelas pessoas com necessidades especiais para frequentar escolas? Nesse sentido, buscou-se saber, através dessa pesquisa, as barreiras encontradas pelas pessoas com deficiência física, para frequentar uma escola regular, desde o transporte oferecido pelo município, até as condições internas e externas da escola, assim como a sinalização das vias de acesso à escola. Conclui-se com a pesquisa que, embora existam leis que regulamentam e normatizam a inclusão e acessibilidade, possibilitando a real inclusão, nem todos os ambientes oferecem condições físicas e estruturais adequadas para acolher de forma inclusiva.
