The traditional model of education is still widely used by many educators in public schools. Students make paper listeners and, most often, the knowledge passed by teachers are not really absorbed. And it is considering this context that it is clear the importance of teachers seeking teaching practices and teaching methods that contribute to boost classes making them more attractive and pleasant. Among the alternatives that work in boosting school is the microscope, as it allows the discussion of distant biological content of reality and everyday viewing of the students. In view of the above, this study aimed to: investigate the acceptance of practical classes for elementary and high school students; verify the conceptions of elementary and high school students about the importance of practical lessons in learning; evaluating the interests of middle and high school students in the implementation of practical classes microscopy in the disciplines of Science and Biology. The survey was conducted in a public school in the city of Cascavel, PR, with the participation of students from 5th to 8th grades of elementary school and 1st to 3 rd year of high school. Initially theoretical and practical lessons of Sciences and Biology related to the specific content of these disciplines have been applied. Upon completion of the first phase of activities, was applied to the students an individual questionnaire with objective questions. It was found that 71% of primary school students and secondary research participants had good acceptance of the practical classes, portraying the importance of this teaching mode. For implementation microscopy classes in the disciplines of science and biology was found that 77% considered it important as a facilitator of the theoretical content learning. Therefore, it can be said that from the choice of easy to apply microscopy practical classes can stimulate curiosity, interaction and reflection of the students, but that teachers need support, encouragement and appreciation for these actions can be performed and achieve effective results. |
