This study presented a comparative analysis of the data obtained by the Education Development Index Basic - IDEB in grade 4 / 5th grade and 8th grade / 9th grade and budgetary aspects from São José dos Campos-SP city for education secretariat in order to understand the relationship between them. This way, it draws a parallel between the budget appointed by the Annual Budget Law - LOA and the Transparency Portal and the results of IDEB. The data used in this study referred to the years 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015. This study presented expenses according to their respective nature for education in elementary school in the city. From these natures, the major and minor expenses were discovered and their impact with respect to the IDEB results. Thus, it was analyses the municipality's funding dynamics with regard to education in elementary school and the results in terms of indices. It also shows the IDEB results for school as well as their respective goals. These data were discussed in line with the authors approached theoretical. The methodology used comprises qualitative research, case study, descriptive, documentary and bibliographicresearch. Overall, there was a relationship between the cost of education and the IDEB results, given that these expenses increased while this indicator also increased. |
