The general purpose of this study was to show the importance of healthy eating habits in this phase. To this end, it was sought support in theoretical approach. Another item discussed was about the identification of the research place, Ipe Roxo, a public school located in Foz do Iguaçu / PR. It was chosen to realize a field survey, descriptive, exploratory and participatory, in which, there was data collecting through interviews, objective and personal, performed with 32 students from the 8th grade of elementary school, about their daily eating habits and socioeconomic status. Checking the answers of the students it can be seen that a significant number of students have only 1 or 2 meals a day, this data is worrying, considering the orientation in the Food Pyramid. Another data inquired was consuming vegetables, fruits, legumes and milk, which showed positive results because many students reported consuming these products. It was verified that 67 % of the students interviewed consume food served by school, which are from organic farming, grown without the use of pesticides. In this research, besides several items, it was found that most of the student’s families belong to less privileged classes, around 80 % survive only with 1 or 2 minimum wages. Considering the per capita income, their saving is low, since most of the families live with 4-5 people in the same house. Another important fact is the percentage of students who do not consume any kind of food for breakfast, considered as high, in other words, 33%. It was observed that for dinner almost 60% of the students have soft drinks, which constitutes a worrying situation. The school attended by these students also offers guidelines on nutrition education, through lectures and inclusion of the subject content in school, therefore education plays an important role in the correct choice of food. Este trabalho teve como temática “Uma investigação acerca dos hábitos alimentares na adolescência”. A escolha do tema se deu devido a importância de uma alimentação saudável para a vida humana, em especial, na fase da adolescência. O objetivo geral deste estudo foi investigar os hábitos alimentares nesta fase. Primeiramente identificou-se o local da pesquisa, Colégio Estadual Ipê Roxo localizado na cidade de Foz do Iguaçu/PR. Optou-se por desenvolver uma pesquisa de campo, descritiva, exploratória e participante, na qual houve a coleta de dados através de entrevista, objetiva e individual, realizada com 32 alunos do 8º ano do Ensino Fundamental sobre seus hábitos alimentares diários e posição socioeconômica. A partir das respostas dos alunos pode-se constatar 40% dos alunos fazem apenas uma ou duas refeições diárias, tal dado é preocupante, tendo em vista as orientações contidas na Pirâmide Alimentar. Outro dado investigado foi o consumo de verduras, frutas, legumes e leite, o qual mostrou resultados positivos, pois muitos alunos afirmam consumir estes produtos. Verificou-se que 67% dos alunos entrevistados consomem alimentos servidos pela escola, os quais são oriundos da agricultura orgânica, cultivados sem o uso de agrotóxico. Nesta pesquisa, além de diversos itens, identificou-se que a maioria das famílias destes alunos são pertencentes à classes menos favorecidas economicamente, cerca de 80% sobrevive com apenas 1 ou 2 salários mínimos. Considerando a renda per capta, o rendimento é baixo, uma vez que 28% residem com 4 a 5 pessoas na mesma casa. Outro dado importante é a porcentagem de alunos que não consome nenhum tipo de alimento no café da manhã, considerado elevado, ou seja, 33%. No jantar por 60% dos alunos observados ingerem refrigerantes, o que se constitui num quadro preocupante.
