In this new century, an important process of redemption of society / nature relationship is in place, given the current and past environmental problems. The Paraíba do Sul Valley region stands out these days, because it has one of the highest growth rates and urbanization of São Paulo, a result of the exploitation of their natural resources which cause environmental problems since the nineteenth century. In Sao Jose dos Campos plant cover it is diverse, but it was very devastated over the years of progress. The trees, by their nature, provide many advantages to the man of the city, improve the well-being, the relative humidity contribute to rainfall patterns and other benefits so if an urban forestry plan is necessary and the Citizen needs to be an active protagonist of this process as it relates to their own quality of life. The aim of this study was to manufacture, along with some students from the State School Major Aviator José Mariotto Ferreira, a manual in order to promote among citizens the importance of adequate urban forestry to improve the quality of life and contribute to the planting and care green areas. For it was carried out a diagnosis of the problems of urban landscaping of the city, through photographs, the following were found: exposed roots of trees on sidewalks and tree tops leaning against the electrical wiring, too, through a questionnaire administered to students and their families, it was found several problems located in the city, such as lack of trees, dirt, trees leaning against wiring with the apparent roots, another observed factor is the population's lack of knowledge on the subject. This question allowed to know the level of knowledge, small, about the trees and also diagnoses problems. Through the data obtained in the questionnaire was created didactic material that also contains valuable information on how to plant a tree listed species and available in the municipal nursery, procedures to plant a sapling: what to do, where to go, what to do, where to plant etc. ., in order to inform the public about the possible problems associated with urban trees that are found in the city, and raise awareness among citizens about the importance of preservation of trees in public spaces. |
