Resumo: This work had as thematic the Teaching of Science in Youngster and Adult Education (EJA) in a school in the city of Rio Claro-SP, analyzing the methodological aspects and the physical structure of the school, the teacher performance and the students’ perception with relation to this discipline. To this end, three interviews that were applied to ten students and to the teacher were prepared. It was also presented a brief history of EJA in Brazil, its current situation and the development of science education in Brazil and in this teaching modality. The results show that the students could not study at an appropriate age due to aspects related to work and family, but they now have the time and willingness to seek educational qualification. The discipline of Science is appreciated by the students as well as the teacher, who despite his inexperience, which is reflected in the lack of a more comprehensive understanding regarding the diversity of social worlds and the social and cultural differences of students, has a qualification above needed for teaching.
