Resumo: This work investigates how the relationship between men and animals can influence the learning of zoology. We have tested three hypotheses: as greater is the individual affinity for the animals greater is the learning; as greater is the individual daily contact with nature greater is the learning; people who fear the animals have their learning of zoology affected. The data for the tests were obtained using surveys. The surveys were applied to individuals with at least the fundamental teaching complete. The results show that people with greater affinity to animals and higher school level have a greater knowledge about zoology. People with greater contact with nature in their childhood show a greater affinity to animals. At last, people who fear a grasshopper show less knowledge about zoology. The results suggest that understand how the affinity and the fear influence the learning can be an important tool to create new strategies to improve the teaching quality.
