This study to object evaluate the effectiveness of practical activities in the learning of chemistry, since this discipline often is seen as a difficult subject to assimilate. So, we intend, through practical classes, together with conducting chemical experiments, provide the opportunity for students to visualize the chemical processes, transcending the theoretical notions in an attempt to facilitate the learning of the content of the subject in study. The experimental work of this study took place in Almirante Tamandaré School, located in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, where students of 1st grade “A” and 1st grade “C” ( high school) morning and afternoon periods, respectively, participated in the research, adding fifty-two students from the two classes. From the themes proposed for the realization of experiments - "The electrical conductivity in aqueous solutions" and "Theory of Acids and Bases Arrhenius” on, a questionnaire was used to make the data collection of the analyzed groups. Considering the results obtained by the answers of the questionnaire, it was noticed a considerable difference in the level of learning between the groups, where one of the groups was given opportunities to practice activities and where the other one was received only information through theoretical notions, without any contact with the practice. Through this confrontation, we could realize the importance of placing the student into experiment to have a better learning. |
