Resumo: This paper presents reflections on the importance of assessment in the learning process in the discipline of science. By conceiving the concept of evaluation in its complexity the study sought to provide, statistically, more evaluation forms that evoke student motivation, and if the evaluation is not learning or service. The research was conducted at the State School in State College Pioneers and Jorge Shimmelpfeng of Foz do Iguaçu. To achieve our objective we chose a methodology for documentary stamp literature, whose development bolstered up in a search based on the survey method, followed by a quantitative analysis. In the current context, to understand the applicability of the content taught in the teaching process and are related to the student's everyday life, it becomes necessary to examine, question and analyze how best assessment. Thus, it was noted the contribution of the study not only for society but also for education professionals, providing a pedagogical practice fair and consistent quality that applies to school reality.
