Resumo: The waste cooking oil generated daily, when disposed of improperly, causing severe damage to the environment. However, this residue can be recycled and used as raw material for the production of various materials such as, for example, biodiesel and soap, significantly reducing the environmental impact and providing greater revenue generation. This study aimed to verify the knowledge that the students of 1st year of East State School Education Polivalente of Goioerê and State School Vila Guaíra, had about the cooking oil disposal, and make them disseminators, both in schools in which study, as in other schools in the municipality, in order to enable the collection of this waste and submit it for recycling, initiating the implementation of the oil selective collection in the municipality of Goioerê. Different questionnaires were performed, respectively, to the students, the leaders of the students and teachers of Sciences discipline of the schools in which the project was developed with the intention of the first two, check your involvement with environmental issues, and teachers, the interest in promoting moments of reflection and to check whether they were in the habit of developing environmental projects in schools in which they work, and where to address questions related to preserving the environment, addressed on disposal of residual oil, and the content was found in the textbook. This research is classified as qualitative and interventional therefore resulted in the sensitization of students, which have become disseminators of content and showed changes in attitudes. It can be concluded that it is possible, through the awareness of students, conduct the collection of waste frying oil in the municipality of Goioerê, since, in the period of 80 days of implementing the project, was collected, approximately 270 liters of oil residual frying, significantly reducing the environmental impact caused by this residue.
