The purpose of this work is to study the transportation and storage of liquid fuels, identifying main rules, regulations and requirements approved in Brazil, specifically for the storage structures smaller than 15,000 liters. Typically, storage structures smaller than 15,000 liters of fuel are requested by companies, farmers and transporters which, however, for lacking knowledge about current legislation and the necessary care for the environment, usually undergo into error. Thus, through research and literature review, both deficit of training and difficulty in obtaining quick and clear information on the subject have been revealed. From such factors, the present study also aims to recommend standard procedures for these types of storages, in order to minimize possible penalties arising from environmental and installation laws; it also aims to suggest a contingency plan, so that accidents related to it can be avoided. Predominantly, the study was held on a qualitative basis, with a descriptive and explanatory approach. |
