Resumo: This research aims to raise the current situation of the scientific production of research in the area of accounting education. The work was characterized as exploratory-descriptive and the qualitative and quantitative approach. The research instrument used was bibliometric analysis and content analysis. The bibliometric analysis evidenced within the bibliographic portfolio; Formed by 63 articles, which: (i) the author who was most prominent was Luis Eduardo Afonso with 3 articles published; (Ii) the time analysis obtained a result that the most prolific years were from the years of 2011 and 2012; (Iii) the most used keywords were, (i) accounting (ii) teachers. Regarding the content analysis, it was possible to show that within the large area Accounting education the subarea Profile and Professional Training was the most discussed among the authors, this happens due to the concern that the society and the universities are demonstrating with the professional training for the market Of work.
