The reforestation activity has high significance in Brazil, Santa Catarina is one of the states where this activity is more expressive. Because of the importance of this sector for the state and for the municipality Caçador, no need for tools to assess the development of the sector in terms of spatial occupation, propose adjustments and expansions. The formulation of reforestation maps for watershed allows the analysis within a territorial unit which involves water conservation, soil and landscape management. The mapping is based on free aerial images, using Geographic Information Systems also free, provides possibilities for facilitating land planning. This study aimed to map the reforestation areas in the watershed Tigre Stream, municipality of Caçador/SC, through aerial images available free of charge. It was found that the reforestation areas occupy about 30.1% of the area of the watershed, a figure considered higher than that found for the city of Caçador. |
