The lack of sanitation or the adoption of solutions that are not effective cause damage to the environment, such as pollution of water courses and soil, therefore, directly affect the health of the population. In contrast, appropriate actions in sanitation promote significant improvements in the health of the inhabitants and the environment. Faced with the reality they live in the municipalities when it comes to basic sanitation, aimed to analyze the situation from the provision of basic sanitation services, which involve the axes of water supply and sanitation, in Ouro Preto, aiming to raise the main difficulties that these sectors face today. Currently the provision of water supply and sewerage services in Ouro Preto suffers from a number of problems that must be corrected so that the integrity and quality in the treated water supply and collection and treatment of sewage are guaranteed, to provide improved living conditions and health of the inhabitants that make use of these essential sanitation services. These services in the municipality lack of investments and improvements in the adequacy of the treated water reservoirs, expansion of the supply network, desilting the abstraction of raw water, construction of sewage treatment plants, increased coverage of wastewater collection network, etc. |
