This work had as thematicthe absorption treatment of the blue colorant Transperse CGA CI 74160, which contains phthalocyanine, a chemical compound very used in impressions, coating and house paint industries. Some aqueous solutions were prepared with 0,4 g/l of colorant, the solutions were treated with 10, 20 and 30 g/l of powder and granulated activated carbon. The method for absorption analysis was UV-VIS, the wavelengths were analyzed between 300 and 800 nm. The presence of phthalocyanine could be verified in the wavelengths between 600 and 700 nm. The samples that presented more colorant removal were the ones treated with powder activated carbon, and also the one treated with 30 g/l with granulated activated carbon. |
