Resumo: The great problems of humanity has been hotly debated, and these are generated by overpopulation and industries around the world, but to reduce losses and conserve natural resources for future generations, it is necessary for the general public to change their behavior. And so these changes take place, environmental education must be present in the formation of citizens. Environmental education can transform negative habits of society to the environment, and turn this situation to improve the quality of life of human beings. Environmental awareness is being included at an earlier age, in schools, with actions promoted by teachers on environmental education. Nowadays schools are advanced in environmental issues, and encouraging teachers to develop awareness actions with the students. The main objectives of this study were to assess the actions that are addressed and how these actions are being developed with students from 3 and 4 grade of elementary school, school Papa João Paulo I and the college Cooperativa of Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. The results were by applying a questionnaire, which was pointed out strengths and weaknesses in performing the work of teachers, and will also present what schools provide in relation to environmental education in their school routine.
