The present work was carried out by means of bibliographic research in diverse scientific bases (in the internet and libraries), aiming at a better understanding about the use of UASB anaerobic reactors in the bioremediation of wastewater in sewage treatment stations. This study identified several environmental problems in large cities, specifically those related to the discharge of sewage (eutrophication of springs, alteration of taste and odor in water supply sources, etc.), with a specific approach on methods bioremediation of wastewater in sewage treatment plants, more specifically the UASB anaerobic reactors. Thus, a more detailed study of UASB reactors, their history, their characteristics and their method of operation showed that their use entails several advantages, which basically turn out to be economic and operational issues. Finally, a survey was carried out in the literature on the works that were used of UASB anaerobic reactors, which confirmed its importance and success in the treatment of wastewater. |
