The advent of technological advancement has brought with it increasingly easier access to electronic resources. Surveys show that the number of obsolete electronic equipment already exceeds the population. This is just one of many findings that can be made in view of the rapid technological advancement of electronics. In this context, this research conducts a diagnosis of electronic waste in the city of Foz do Iguaçu. In search of information to promote study on e-waste management in the municipality, semi -structured interviews were conducted with a private company and is engaged in collection of such waste. This work is also presented in addition to the aforementioned diagnostic important aspects around the junk, as the management at the national level with regard to the use and disposal of this waste, the legislation dealing with electronic waste with emphasis on how it is approached the theme of the treatment and disposal of these materials and also what the consequences for the environment and to society of incorrect handling of electronic waste. Through the study we realized that the market for this line of business is promising, but there is much to be done when it comes mainly from legislation, societal awareness and incentives for companies. The consumer electronics tends to grow, it brings convenience and reflects the advancement of society and is thinking in this aspect that should be a major concern involving all segments, as demand is increasing. |
