Resumo: The growing need for people to acquire residential properties has significantly increased the number of companies and even freelancers who develop activities in construction in our country. Allied to this need, there are several forms of government funding directed at the population have their own home or even company, which generated an increase in the number of buildings and large production Waste Construction - RCC, mainly in debris at construction sites. This reality is national, even in small towns like San Carlos (SC). In this context, this research aims, among others: to evaluate the situation in which companies and freelance make recycling and reuse of CCRs in this county. The preparation of this work was accomplished through: literature review, fieldwork and visits to local generation, storage and disposal of CCRs. The results show that: 1) The RCCs the city under study is composed of various materials (cemented, cans, plastics, etc.) and that, in accordance with applicable Brazilian laws, in particular environmental, are not getting the appropriate destination and neither necessary to prevent environmental degradation treatment; 2) Companies and freelancers who are dedicated to the building industry still do not have adequate (and/or sufficient) knowledge to correctly classify and allocate the surplus and waste of his works and 3) There is interest and concern of businesses and freelancers who develop activities in the construction of San Carlos (SC) with the waste, and recycle what they can reuse, but most are designed for municipal collection, this being deposited in local the open, without any treatment. Whereas federal law and CONAMA Resolution 307/2002 (and its updates) govern the implementation of the waste management for construction (Integrated Waste Management Plan Construction) being prepared by the Municipalities and the Federal District, it is suggested the implementation of this instrument by the Government of São Carlos (SC). Promoting inclusive involvement through: orientation and training of workers and enterprises; alternatives for reuse of CCRs, and suited to target these tailings site. Face of possible violations of the standards set is suggested, finally, warning and ultimately fines in accordance with the legal possibilities.
