The lack of options and procedures for the disposal of waste produced in the countryside has generated accumulation of garbage in the properties with the risk of environmental impacts. The waste produced in the countryside are quite diverse and do not receive adequate attention. The farms have a low population density , are very scattered and often difficult to access, making it difficult , especially the waste
treatment situation . The survey was conducted between the months of September and October of 2014 , within the municipality of Concordia, Santa Catarina , with farmers from different locations in the city , in order to identify this problem as animal health waste generated in rural environment : what wastes are generated , their classification, forms of treatment and disposal of solid waste of animal health on
farms with animal husbandry activities in dairy cattle , poultry and swine . Thus it was observed that the animal health residues represent a minor part of the total waste generated , but with great potential for contamination to the environment and workers' health , as incorrect procedures are practiced , such as burning and the grounding of residues. |
