Resumo: The city of Matelândia is located in the western state of Paraná, being that more than half of its territory belongs the Iguassu National Park. Therewith, It is known that the city of study has great influence in the conservation of this park that is considered heritage of humanity. Thus, this study had the main focus characterize the types of used agricultural techniques at the margins of Iguassu National Park, the use of pesticides and what the level of knowledge of the owners about the alternative agriculture. The data were collected through of questionnaires performed individually with each owner and compared with the data obtained from the environment secretary of city, besides similar works. Through of field research, there was obtained the result that most of the properties are using direct planting, a technique that keeps the straw from the previous harvest and help in protecting the soil. The search also showed the some farmers make the use of planting with transgenic seeds very close at the margins of Iguassu National Park, at present is respected a limit of 500 meters. The use of insecticides is almost unanimous among surveyed. On the other hand, the agroecology, that doesn’t use insecticides, is little known and explored in the region at the margins of Park.
