The present work analyzes the complex service of Technical Assistance and Extension Rural-ATER Agroecological in the semi-arid region of Brazil. The study brings the reality and particularities of ATER agroecological, sustainable rural development in semi-arid climate, exposing situations found in the rural environment and scientific literature. Focusing on the analysis of the challenges encountered in the implementation of the new ATER agro-ecological service for the construction and consolidation of sustainable development. The effective dissemination and consolidation of conservation practices is a fundamental factor for man to reach a perfect state of equilibrium in the use and maintenance of natural resources essential for rural and urban life. The execution of the works with techniques “coexistence” for the semi-arid climate still encounter barriers, both by producers and public managers, sometimes motivated by the culture of man, often proven in the lack of environmental “education” awareness. Other limiting factors are climatic and economic conditions, coupled with conventional agricultural production that degrades ecosystems, with indiscriminate use of agrochemicals and deforestation of native plant species. It is worth noting that producers in this region still find it very difficult to access public policies. The challenges of ATER’s technological processes are still far from over. Thus, there is a need for changes in the scientific, political and cultural scenario. |
