This work had as its theme the diagnosis of solid waste on the banks of the Rio do Peixe in the municipality of Piratuba - SC. The survey took place on 30 and 31 October 2013, where 10 points were sampled in the city of Piratuba border, between the border with the municipality of Capinzal until the bridge Irineu Bornhausen. In each point a perimeter was established from 15 meters parallel to the river. Was collected 1755 objects, corresponding to 35.650 kg of waste. Residues that weighed more were: footwear (25.11 %), pet bottles (16.66%) and rigid plastics (6.06 %) The number of objects that predominated were: Styrofoam (34.76 %), flexible plastic (32.76 %) and plastic bottles (8.95%). Pesticide containers, lubricants and veterinary materials were also found. In only one sample point were found 235 kg of tires. There was the visual impact that the waste have on the environment, and the high fragmentation of some types of waste surface difficult collecting the smaller pieces. It is suggested to clean the margin and environmental awareness of the population so that this problem no longer occurs. |
