Resumo: This work is subject to presentation of what is stress and its symptoms. Present what comes to quality of life and what they write the researchers. Demonstrate that police work has adversities and present diseases that come with the advent of stress. Point within the police category and its divisions, which population has the edge of a stress. Correlate the work of identifying factors that influence negatively the police career. Given the types of qualitative and descriptive research of this work that was necessary a study on the subject occupational stress, using a questionnaire applied to the population of the Military Police institution of 4ºBPM / 1ªCia, where it was possible to contextualize some situations present on -a - day these servers. Where is identified as important information , 70 % of respondents are male , 62% are operational police - occurrence of care, 26 % are aged between 30 to 35 years, 58% held a 12 -hour day , 26% have between 5-10 years of effective service and that 58 % of the sample considers his stressful job . After presents the results, they were discussed and analyzed qualitatively, based on the literature used in the theoretical foundation. It was then possible to compose, it refers to the final considerations the result obtained in a clear and simple way. Remember that the work provided related information as is physical and mental health of police, without judging forms of work and point out errors.
