This work had as its theme the practice of leadership in public administration emphasizing the implementation of democratic management. Based on Article 206, section VI of the Federal Constitution, which establishes the democratic management of teaching and LDB 9394/96 which sets up as one of the principles and purposes of national education, the democratic management of public education means that the process teaching and learning is not limited to the classroom, but the effective involvement of the entire school and community. Thus, to overcome the challenges in the implementation of democratic management is to understand what are the main management practices can be adopted. For this it is necessary to understand the current management and internal repercussions in the institution, identify the most important practices that management is making a relationship with the theoretical concepts highlighted in the literature review, verify together to reviewers what their perceptions of management, analyze the opportunities and challenges and propose necessary changes to achieve a democratic management with excellence. Within this context, this study sought to analyze through a survey to various sectors of the school, the opinions of reviewers about the management style adopted by the direction that is the same for more than five years and some attitudes of the employees themselves in day to day work at the Technical Institute of Barueri Brasílio Flores de Azevedo, a public institution of technical high school. Through the existing literature and analysis of the survey responses, it was possible to identify the current management situation, as this management is seen by employees and propose some adjustments in the direction of democratic management. |
