The role of leaders in the day-to-day in both private companies and public administration is of great importance, since they operate directly in the implementation of government strategies and plans to ensure better quality of products and services for citizens. Specifically in Brazil how dealing with the public administration had a considerable advance in opposition to the characteristics of a patrimonial administration, promoting, thus, new forms of management involving management and leadership principles. The purpose of this document is to present a survey on modernization undergone by public management and discuss the role of leadership in timing performance of teams of employees. The action of leading public administration must be in accordance with their values to be ethical. Their values, in turn, must be supported by conduct which serves as an example. However, for the leader to be able to carry out their role as creator and mediator of synergy between staff and public organization, it is essential that its presence is detected by the direction and on his shoulders is deposited the corresponding hierarchical power. The leadership has been increasingly considered as one of the essential elements of good public governance. Leaders in the public sector need to know how to mobilize people through values and visions; and persuade them to converge their efforts for a common cause. It depends on the development of an efficient public administration, focusing on results, oriented to the provision of quality services to the user and well organized. The methodological procedures used for the feasibility of this work were a qualitative one, making the author's work has a dialogue with the authors of the theme, inserting texts that came under the problematic raised enriching their knowledge and redefines its concepts concerning content covered. |
