Resumo: This research , exploratory in nature , aimed at evaluating the level of social capital of students from IES residents south of the city of São Paulo . Was adapted and used the " Integrated Questionnaire to measure Social Capital ( SC-IQ ) " - World Bank , applied to 312 students enrolled in the 1st year of the Administration on the 2nd half of 2013 . Assuming that the full realization of equal opportunities requires basic and essential prerequisites , focusing on the impact of social capital and particularly concerning education and cultural aspects , and in view of public policies for education and culture in the 2000s, the statistical tools were used for descriptive analysis , and analysis of the survey data found sociocultural aspects of the study area , obtained by comparing with the Social Vulnerability Map of the Population of the City of São Paulo for the region , in order to build relationships -informed on the specifics of the local and endogenous forces .
