Resumo: Given the current competitive conditions, found in key international markets, it has become necessary that large corporations should act continuously in reducing the costs of their products and processes. For industry and for retail, this statement is no longer just a concern but has become the crux of their survival against new standards imposed by the financial and productive globalization. Aiming to increase the competitiveness of Correios Reverse Logistics solution, both by adding additional values to potential customers as well as by improving the efficiency of the service offered, Correios has presented the Correios Reverse Logistics solution as a complementary service to the series of parcel services. Its features seek to include the key success factors in relation to capillarity, flexibility, reliability of the parcel service and convenience in the service request. The success of the new service is based on the capillarity of Correios's Logistics, the portfolio consisting of the best parcel services in the Brazilian market and the reliability of the Correios brand for performing a critical customer marketing activity of the company: the aftermarket. Considering the scenario, this paper aims to identify the situation that led Correios, a company of Public Management, to become competitive and innovative, showing its suitability according to the market demands. For such, it will analyze theoptions for collection and distribution, types of services and their evolutions, market scenario, business structure, among others. Local information was obtained through an interview with the Head of the Parcels Department (DEENC). It is possible to conclude that, even belonging to the Public Management, Correios manages to stand out before private companies in the area of Reverse Logistics.
