Resumo: The aim of this research was to demonstrate the results achieved by controlling, member of the PDCA cycle as the basis for detection and subsequent resolution of faults in the production process of an organization. Specifically it aimed to present the main methodologies used for fault detection in production; establish production control indicators in a company's production line selected for the research and present the results of a case study on a branch company of automotive products of Ponta Grossa, Paraná. With the study and with the right application tool was identified through production indicators, some flaws in the process that have been resolved through corrective actions. It has found that certain factors which negatively influencing productivity, such as scrap and rework were identified, as well as aspects concerning the production process itself as loss of time to stop production. In this sense, with these indicators it was possible to take corrective action in order to be able to achieve the preset goals. It highlights the importance of control in the process, seen as the most important stage of the PDCA cycle by some authors, which brought positive results and effectively improved the production process.
