Resumo: The competition between companies has led organizations to seek new market strategies and reduce their operating costs. The improvement of maintenance activities can not only reduce these costs , but provide safety improvements in relations with the environment and meeting the regulatory requirements . Traditionally , maintenance is planned using the experience of employees with managerial and information sought in equipment manuals . Looking at the results after applying the tool of MASP ( Analysis Methodology and Solutions )in the examples explored in the work , it is evident how companies fail to win because the small charts for failures in their supply chains . A deeper analysis of the earning opportunities , it is possible to show how much is lost by not investing in the workforce of the factory floor , and these also depend on the actions of greater or lesser impact on the final cost of the product . The vast majority of these opportunities small degree of impact , eventually passing unnoticed by managers , ie , quickly and auxiliary operators deal only the effect and not the cause . By ignorance or misapplication of support tools , small stops if relapse numerous times in a given time andeven if they are irrelevant for the downtime may lead one to question the viability of a particular production or even a whole chain productive.
