Resumo: The present work aims to demonstrate the relationship of the application of concepts of Cleaner Production and use of residues from the manufacture of medium density fiberboard (MDF) generated in the grinding and cutting fiberboard step process to the power generation. The energy needed to perform the drying fibers and steam generation is demonstrated and served with a setting where fuel proposal consumes 100 % of the residues generated in the manufacturing stage. Through the use of waste MDF with complementary waste (sawdust) of timber, it is possible to significantly reduce the use of natural gas, a fossil fuel that finite and has a high cost in relation to the use of renewable fuels. The reuse of this material is made possible by a pre-treatment which he receives decreasing itsparticle size to be consumed later in multifuel burner thermal plant. This work also presents a current overview of the production and consumption of MDF panels and fuel in question, natural gas, including national and world reserves of this.
