The Management System for Safety and Health at Work (HSMS) , considered an effective tool for improving the conditions of the work environment , is one of the possible alternatives for managing the evolution of the maritime industries, which historically have low performance in this area. This research presents relevant information that can be used by shipping companies during the design and implementation of your SGSST. Its establishes the concepts of HSMS and discusses its main elements and the possibility of integration with the systems of quality management and ambiental. Os results showed that the implementation of HSMS brings significant improvements in the conditions of the work environment, especially when accompanied by the establishment of a new culture, which considers health and safety at work one of the essential factors in the overall assessment of company performance. |
