Resumo: The guiding purpose of this study was to describe the relationship between quality of work life in the drying section of a company's processing of yerba mate and employee exposure to environmental hazards. For such a map of risk taking as a basis the regulatory norm NR9 Ordinance 3.214/78 was prepared. As for the quality of work life 14 male employees were interviewed, aged 27 ± 5 years and an average service time of 9 ± 6 months through questionnaire assessment of Quality of Working Life of Werther and Davis (1983). The results pointed to an environmental hazard divided into small for chemical, ergonomic hazards, accidents, mean and physical risks (heat and noise) meeting the opinions about the workplace, where the level of satisfaction despite being predominantly had a smaller percentage (71%) than in issues that relate self-affirmation (75%) and organizational culture (88%). In questions of level of quality of work life responses were predominantly "very satisfied" with emphasis on the behavioral elements with index 63 % satisfaction, which suggests that employees have as their main source of motivation within itself the rise company. After analyzing the data, it can be stated that the possible hardships of the physical work environment can be overcome by the satisfaction generated in organizational and behavioral elements of the company.
